We assume that when we get there, when we ‘arrive’, we’ll feel amazing. That we’ll be validated by the universe and then it’ll finally be okay to ease up on our selves.
And yes, sometimes we do feel a deep sense of joy and contentment when we achieve our goals.
But too often, we don’t. We’re caught in a vicious circle of striving for satisfaction. Tolerating, enduring, trying to impress the imaginary ‘they’ in our heads. Even if we reach a goal, it’s not long before we’re aiming for more - the next ambitious goal, the next arbitrary line in the sand, the next thing that we hope will help us finally feel good.
Why do you want what you want?
Everything we do is driven by the desire to feel a certain way. You’re not chasing the goal itself — you’re chasing the feelings that you hope attaining those goals will give you. The essence of your desire is a feeling. You may not even be conscious of this.
So what if, first, we got clear on how we actually wanted to feel within our life, and then we declared our intentions, designed our to-do lists, set our goals, and wrote our bucket lists?
What if your core desired feelings consciously informed how you plan your day, your year, your career — your life?
You may recommit to your ambitions with even more renewed passion and heart-fuelled motivation.
Or you may find yourself going after different things, and you may find yourself going after them in a different way. Setting intentions that are in sync with who you truly are, achieved in ways that are actually life affirming and nourishing instead of an endurance test.
Either way, the pursuit becomes more satisfying. You enjoy the journey, not just the destination.

So many of us can readily rattle off a hundred things we dislike or name a long list of things we think we should want based on everyone else’s expectations, but we have no idea what we truly, deeply desire beyond the vague rhetoric of ‘happiness’.

When that inner clarity meets outer action:
- You are more present and alive. You take radical responsibility for how you create your life. You create your life with pure and powerful intention.
- You feel the way you want to feel more often than not. What we focus on expands, so choosing to focus on life-affirming feelings is the surest way to create the experience you want.
- Decisions are easier to make. You use your preferred feelings as a guidance system for making more empowered choices that take your mind, body and soul into consideration. Your life is more aligned and integrated as you know what opportunities to say YES or ‘no, thank you’ to.
- You are more optimistic and more open-hearted. Feeling good increases your flexibility, resiliency, effectiveness, and magnetism. You accentuate the positive aspects of your life, while still honouring, and not invalidating, the negative parts that you want to change. You are able to access comfort and clarity during painful times, and it is easier for you to return to your centre in the midst of a challenge. You remember your light, your true nature, your source — the life source that connects us all.
- Your life eases up on the grinding and fills with more ease. You liberate yourself from comparison to others. You stop striving and needing to prove yourself. You go after goals that nourish your spirit.
When we make feeling good a priority, everything changes — our individual lives change, and social systems change. How we make and spend money changes. How we live and love changes.

Based on the best-selling book The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte, in this two day in-person workshop you will experience the practical and powerful process that has already transformed thousands of people’s lives around the world.
This workshop covers both modules of the official Desire Map program:
- Level 1 (identifying your core desired feelings); and
- Level 2 (creating goals and intentions aligned with your core desired feelings).
This is not just another inspirational ‘talk’ or presentation (there will be no PowerPoint slides!).
It’s not another self-help event in a big theatre with hundreds or even thousands of attendees where you passively sit and get talked at for hours.
This is an intimate experiential workshop where you will dive deep into self-exploration to get to know yourself better and actively create a life you love – one where you wake up inspired and energised every morning and go to bed feeling grateful to be living your life.
We begin by exploring our relationship to feelings and desire.
You’ll identify what you’re grateful for and where you’re dissatisfied in five areas of your life, to stir up feelings and start to clarify your desires.
You’ll create a map of how you desire to feel in those five areas of your life. From that place of clarity, you’ll be guided to discover and declare your ‘core desired feelings’ (the way you want to feel every day of your life), all while being supported in a loving environment.
On Day 2 we move to the next stage of the Desire Map process. This is where clarity meets action.
You’ll explore your relationship to ambition, external approval, and ‘success’. We’ll bust the illusion of ‘having it all’. You’ll reflect on your current goals, commitments and obligations so you can clear the decks and make a ‘stop doing’ list to create time and space for what matters most.
Then you’ll decide what changes are needed to consciously create more of what you desire in your life. You’ll identify what you want to have, do and experience in order to feel how you want to feel. You’ll prioritise the major goals or intentions you want to focus on in the next 12 months and the resources and people who can support and inspire you.
You might want to set one hundred goals with precise measurables. Or you may not want to set any goals, and instead focus on making small, deliberate improvements in your everyday life to feel the way you want to feel as often as possible. Whatever your preference, I am here to support you on your journey.
The ultimate objective is you moving through your life with clarity and intention, being guided by how you want to feel.

Do I have to read The Desire Map book before attending the workshop? Will I get anything out of the workshop if I haven’t read it?
You do not need to read the book to have an amazing experience in the workshop.
The workshop assumes no knowledge of The Desire Map and is designed to guide you through the process from start to finish.
I’ve already read The Desire Map and identified my core desired feelings. Is there any point in me attending this workshop?
Yes! Your goals and feelings can evolve, so many people find it helpful to periodically repeat the Desire Map process and refresh their core desired feelings. The Desire Map creator, Danielle LaPorte, said in the book that she likes to create a new Desire Map for herself twice a year.
With the support of a professional coach and expert Desire Map facilitator, this workshop enables those who are familiar with The Desire Map to go deeper than they might when completing the process alone.
Going through The Desire Map process in a group allows you to connect with others, share experiences and wisdom, and receive encouragement and support. This may offer different perspectives or lead to new insights which may generate a more nuanced or refined understanding of your core desired feelings, or inspire you to choose new core desired feelings.
I love my life already, so what benefit would this workshop have for me?
This workshop can help you get even more specific on what’s working well so you can amplify it. You will be encouraged to stretch, expand and live with even greater clarity and intention.

Talking about my feelings sounds kinda scary – do I have to share in public?
We’ll be doing deep and meaningful work, which will require you to be honest with yourself and may bring up emotions. We will create a safe and supportive space for you to share, but you won’t be forced to share anything with the group that you don’t want to. I promise.

How do I get there?
The Cullen hotel is <5 km from Melbourne CBD via car. The closest train station is Prahran, and it is only 5 mins via train from Flinders St Station. See more information on the venue here.
My plans have changed - can I get a refund on the ticket I bought?
Because extensive preparation is required to create an amazing experience for you, all ticket sales are final. No exchange, credit or refund will be given except where the organiser cancels or reschedules the event.
If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend, you are welcome to sell or give your ticket to someone else. Your ticket is transferrable to another person by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org confirming the replacement guest name and email address at least 24 hours prior to the event, so we can welcome them at the event.
Can you run an exclusive workshop just for me and my friends?
Sure! I offer an option to have this workshop hosted by you and facilitated by me.
Gather 10 to 15 friends who also want more joy, fulfilment and ease in their life.
You provide the space, lunch and snacks.
